DYNAMIC EDGE SUMMER CAMPS
At Dynamic Edge Hockey’s week-long summer camps, players develop their individual skills through progressive, repetitive and creative drills. Each of which, utilizes innovative on ice equipment to create a fun, safe environment. Camps will vary in length, ranging from 15-25 hours on ice per week and also entail 45 minutes to 1 hour of hockey specific, off-ice training/conditioning. Each camp will have its own unique theme and develop specific aspects of the game. From Total Skill Development Camp to Puck Control and High Tempo Conditioning Camp, each player will be pushed beyond a level they did not think was possible. Edgework and body control will always be a constant as they are the foundation that allows each other skill to fall into place.
TOTAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT
During this camp, students are able to focus on individual skill development in all aspects of the game. Fundamentals such as skating, stick handling, shooting, passing, and checking will be taught during each hour. From day one of camp, we start with the most basic technique. Each day, drills progress through repetition and complexity, and finish by incorporating more and more speed. From that point, players will be put through a series of game-like situations to utilize the skills they have been taught. The training methods and system used are concepts that have been taken from different coaches all over the world and molded through Chris’ professional experience.
Puck Control/High Tempo Skating/Conditioning
Hockey is the fastest sport on earth. Not only are you skating but you need to move fast while controlling a puck as well as be aware of and elude other people on the ice. Hockey also involves a need to go full speed for 45 seconds to a minute then rest for about 2 or 3 minutes and then repeat. Training the body in this fashion will most certainly result in a better hockey player. Not only does this camp train the body, but it will train the mind, as that is the first thing to go when we are fatigued. Mental mistakes can be the difference between teams and individuals being successful or not. Drills will push each player’s skills physically and mentally and develop the endurance they need to excel at this sport.
